Kay W. Hancock

Kay Hancock came to St. George from the Roosevelt, Vernal, Utah area in 1984. She had served on the Roosevelt Area Chamber of Commerce as a member, director and Vice President. Kay owned Grace’s Dress Shop and K’s men’s shop and was active on the Downtown Merchants Committee. In late 1974 she sold her clothing stores and received her Real Estate License through Utah State University. She licensed with United Farm Agency and sold farms and ranches. She was one of the original organizers of the Uintah Basin Board of Realtors, serving on the board for two years.

In 1977 she became an insurance agent with New York Life Insurance Company and in the first year sold more than two million dollars worth of insurance to become a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table. She was a member of the NY Life Star club, Top Club and the first Utah woman to become a member of the Woman’s Leader’s Round Table.

In 1978 she received her Real Estate Broker’s License and opened her own real estate office. She was the ownerlbroker for Labrum Real Estate full service offices in Roosevelt, Vernal and Richfield. She received the Professional Image Award and the Top Investment Sales Person award for the Uintah Basin Board of Realtors.

She was licensed by the State of Utah as a Real Estate Instructor for over eight years, teaching the real estate sales agent licensing classes. She received a Series 7 & 63 Securities license and opened a securities office in Vernal, Utah. She was an instructor for Utah State University and the Uintah Basin Area Vocational School, and was an Appraisal Instructor for Dixie College.

She was a managing partner for Painted Hills Development in Vernal, Utah during 1980 to 1984, working with engineers, contractors, city planning and zoning officials and developed a large subdivision.

In 1984 she made a move to St. George and was licensed as a real estate agent with Green Valley Real Estate, selling condominiums at Green Valley Resort. In 1987 she activated her own Real Estate Broker’s license again and started her own real estate company in St. George, representing buyers only. The name of her company at that time was Real Estate Negotiators. She married Shirl Hancock in 1990; and changed the name of her company to Real Estate Professionals. She is still an exclusive buyer’s broker 100% of the time.

During her membership with the National Association of Realtors for over forty five years, she took courses to complete the designations as a Graduate of the Real Estate Institute, Accredited Buyer’s Representative, Short Sales Representative.

She was licensed as a Certified General Appraiser for Utah and Idaho and was an Associate Member of the Appraisal Institute 1987 to 2005. She received her appraisal education through the Appraisal Institute taking classes in Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Maryland, Texas, California, and Oregon. She also received her Idaho Brokers license through the College of Southern Idaho and opened her own office in Driggs, Idaho. She was also the broker for the Real Estate of Jackson Hole, in the Driggs office for over a year, and was a member of the Teton Board Realtors, licensed in Idaho and Wyoming. She had an office in Driggs, Idaho for ten years and also worked full time in St. George flying back and forth between offices.

She has been extremely successful in satisfying her clients. She addresses each and every need and desire of her clients, in a professional real estate transaction. She is an experienced, dedicated, loyal, broker; her ethics and integrity are of the highest standard. Kay has been active in community service over the years, she has been on the Dixie Health Care Foundation Board of Trustees, she was involved in the formation of the Jubilee House, and in the fund raising activity of donors purchasing bricks with their name on them for the Jubilee Brick Wall. She was also involved in the beginning of Repeat Performance, searching for the best location, and opening of this special fund raiser for the community.

She and her husband have 5 children, 20 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren and are involved with them all. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and has served in many positions. She loved to play golf, bridge, dance, read and
